Board-Certified Obesity Medicine in Bergen County

What Board Certification Means
Obesity Is a Chronic Disease
Obesity is a complex, chronic disease shaped by biology, genetics, hormones, environment, and behavior. Obesity medicine treats it with the same seriousness and evidence-based care as any other chronic condition, without judgment.
Specialized Training
Board certification in obesity medicine is awarded by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. It requires a physician to complete specialized education in the treatment of obesity and pass a dedicated certification exam, in addition to holding board certification in a primary specialty.
Double Board-Certified Care
Dr. Dahan is certified by both the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. That combination means your weight care is grounded in a full understanding of your overall health.
Improving Metabolic Health
Excess weight is closely linked to many other conditions, and improving weight often improves them too. Dr. Dahan treats obesity together with related metabolic conditions, including:
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Fatty liver disease
- Sleep apnea
Better metabolic health can mean more energy and a lower risk of future complications.
Whole-Person, Personalized Care
Whole-Person Medical Care
Your evaluation goes beyond the scale to include your medical history, lifestyle, sleep, stress, emotional well-being, and personal goals.
Personalized Care
No two patients get the same plan. Treatment is tailored to your health, your preferences, and what has and has not worked for you before.
Respectful, Judgment-Free
You will always be treated with respect, kindness, and understanding in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Unrushed Visits and Enhanced Physician Access
Your first visit lasts 90 to 120 minutes and follow-ups about 40 minutes, and enhanced physician access means support is available when you need guidance most.
